Sun started shining across the land.

With that many birds started going out to find food along with their chirping.

Greenwood Village.

Birds chirping also woke up Leon. When he opened his eyes he saw himself sleeping on the chair. He then remembered about last night, as if thinking something he immediately looked at the bed and saw the old man was still sleeping.

He scolded himself for being stupid. Idiot, how can I fall asleep in this situation? If anything happened while I was sleeping, I will be blaming myself for the rest of my life.

Still seeing everything is fine, he went to make breakfast.

Breakfast is simple in this world just for them, he thinks.

Its one bowl of rice, curry, soup, and bread. Soup and curry can be optional.

After finishing making breakfast, he started to arrange them at the table. When he was arranging he saw the old man was coming to the table. He put down the soup bowls in his hands on the table and hurried forward to help the old man sit down.

Watching him sit down, Leon went to bring up the rest of the breakfast.

After doing so he also sat down. They started eating without mentioning anything.

While eating Leon looked at the old man who was eating peacefully. He couldn hold himself down.

He worriedly asked. ”Old man, are you alright? How is your health right now? If there is any discomfort you should rest now. What happened yesterday? Is it….? ”

Seeing Leon started barraging with questions, the old man couldn hold himself down. ”Hahahahahaha… ”

Leon also stopped when he saw the old man laughing like that.

After a while, he stopped laughing. He then looked straight at Leon and smiled. ”I am okay. You don have to worry about anything. Its just I am too old now, its hard to move sometimes. ”

Leon also sighed in comfort. He worriedly said. ”You don have to go work in the fields anymore. I will do all of it from now on. ”

Leon couldn help in the fields when he was too small. But when he started training 4 years ago, he started to help the old man in the fields. He told the old man he could do all the work from now on.

The old man just told him that time. ”No, I have to do work. I am too old also I don have anything and anyone expects you. If I don do anything I will feel like I am not existing anymore. ”

The old mans reply at that time also made him agree. But now the old man has no strength to work properly. He couldn let him do any type of hard work.

The old man replied to his concern. ”Okay, if you can do it I will not say anything but don harm yourself. ”

Leon assured. ”I promise I won do any harm to myself. ”

They then started finishing their breakfast. When they finished Leon got ready to take the dishes to wash.

Holding the stalked bowls he was on his way out, he heard the old man says. ”The breakfast you made today was unique. The rice being overcooked, the soup is too thick and more. ”

Leon almost staggered himself when he heard that. He complained. Of course, it will be. If not why would I make you cook every day.

”But still you didn burnt or waste anything in your first try is already great. I am going to rest. After doing all work today come to the tree in the backyard. ” the old man left after saying that.

Leon also went to do work. He wouldn be training.

Strength can come and go but close ones and family members will be lost forever if they are gone.

He had finished the field works and supplied crops to market early today. The work finished fast today because him being young and energetic. If it was an old man he would have come to home close to after. He came home when the sun was on top of his head or to say at noon.

Taking a bath he came to the backyard. The backyard had only one tree so it wasn hard to find. But he didn find the old man, still, he sat under the tree waiting.

The old man came slowly after that. He slowly sat beside him. He didn say anything so Leon also didn .

They just sat under the shed tree, looking at the beautiful blue sky with some clouds passing by.

After a while, the old man started talking. ”Leon do you know why there is only one tree in our backyard? ”

”I do not, ” Leon replied.

”When my grandson was still alive, he was around your age. His name was Rain. He had the hobby of planting trees and he would save any animals in danger. I didn get why he was planting trees when our land doesn need them to plant. One day I asked why are you planting trees, they will just grow naturally. ” the old man then said with pride.

”He told me that trees also have life, they don have anyone to take of them. Everyone just uses them as much as they like. He wanted to take care of their children and say to them He was not someone who would neglect any life even if they are born naturally. He would also save animals because they also show him love through their eyes when they are saved by him. He wanted not to be hated by any kind of life. ”

The old man had tears in his eyes. These tears came from the reminiscence and pride of his grandson.

Leon hearing this said with emotion. ”Old man your grandson had more maturity and wisdom than most adults. He would have been a great man if he was alive. ”

Leon was also lamenting. He was so great at the age of ten and I have lived trice of his age but still don have the balls to trust someone.
