The old man then spoke as if he was tired. ”So Leon you should also respect life like him and…I do not have much time to live. ”

Leon still heard what he didn want to hear most. He knew something was wrong from yesterday. He was so old he had to have some health issues at this age.

”I will. ”He said with his head down.

The old man then patted his shoulder. ”Don always be sad. Sadness will drag you down. ”

The old man stood up and walked towards the house. ”I am going to rest now, you better prepare some nice dish at lunch. ”

Leon just sat there bowing his head down looking at the grass. Then he looked up at the sky and he sighed afterward.

Steeling his mind he stood up and went into the house. He came to the kitchen to make lunch. He cooked dishes they always had in lunch: One bowl of rice, curry for each, and some vegetables and meat.

At lunch, they didn talk much as always and just started eating.

Leons days went by as always. Not much talking, just serious work. He also stopped doing training. Its just he took extra care of the old man.

Like this 3 months went by. With that many flowers can be seen and the temperature in the air also increasing. As if announcing the ending of spring.

The old mans health has also gone worse. Leon has to bring food to his room and feed him.

Like every day Leon came home near noon after finishing his work. Coming home he was about to remove his clothes to take a shower. At this time a weak sound came.

”Le….L.e.o.n…..Le- on… ”

He immediately knew it was the old mans sound. He hurried toward the old mans room. Opening the door he saw the old man had closed eyes but his lips were moving as if he trying to say something.

Leon went to the beds side, kneeled there, and hold the old mans hand. He said worriedly. ”Old man, what happened? If you need anything just say it, I am here. ”

”Leon you are here. Did you finish todays work? ” The old man opened his eyes and said it with so low sound it was hard to hear but Leon heard it.

”I did it. I will do it everyday whole heartily. ” Leon said anxiously.

”Huuhh. Leon you don have to do this work. You have a dream and I have seen it in your eyes. This works may shackle you. ” The old man sincerely said.

”Bu- But.. ”

”No buts. You can go chase your dreams. ” The old man said it strongly.

”Okay…okay I will start chasing my dream. But old man who will take care of you. ” After assuring Leon said worriedly.

”Leon, My Grandson, you are the last person I could ever be able to have as a family member. I don want to destroy my grandsons future in this place. ” The old man said dotingly.

”No old man you will not. ” But Leon denied it.

”Yes, I will. Grandson, I don think I have much time left. I can see clearly with my eyes…Just haze. I don have the strength to move my fingers. I can hear well or smell properly. Leon, I think I have to leave you alone. ” As The old man was saying this his voice was getting weaker.

When Leon heard this his mind went blank and lastly being alone again something made him inside feel scared.

He stammered blankly. ”You can ….. you can go away. Don leave me alone. Please..please. ”

The old man heard his voice and knew which state he was in. He poured every ounce of his strength into his right hand and make it rest on top of Leons head.

The old man said weakly. ”Don be sad. Every person to die. Death may mean I will be gone. But If you can always remember me in your heart I will be able to live alongside you, for the rest of your life. And I will always love you, my quiet and naughty Grandson. I will be watching your Journey from up there, in the sky. ”

Hearing this something seem to shatter in Leons mind, His mind started to illuminate with white light.

Leon while tears pouring down his face smiled. ”I will always remember you, Grandpa. Be sure to never forget to cheer me up from there Grandpa. ”

Grandpa Rick also didn expect his grandson to call him grandpa. Ever since the death of his family, he was sad and broken down. He wanted to leave this world sometimes too. But one day he saw a baby in a basket near his house. He went to check on it and saw a baby sleeping calmly but the baby still had a smile on his face. This smile also brightened his mind. He started raising him. He saw him grow up in a calm and quiet-minded but being naughty toward his close ones. But he never seemed to fully accept him. So today at the near of his life, hearing him call grandpa he knew he was finally accepted.

Grandpa Rick finally smiled. ”Fine I will. Don disappoint me. Leon one last thing, Remember to bury me beside the tree your brother had planted. ”

Leon smiled with tears on his face and said. ”No problem. I will bury you beside the tree brother Rain had planted. ”

Hearing that Grandpa Rick finally closed his eyes and went to sleep eternally.

The room was also filled with silence.

One minute later, the was filled with crying.

Leon could be seen gritting and crying with bowls of tears coming from his eyes. He was holding Grandpa Ricks hand as if afraid he was literally gone.
