Chapter 33

There was a strange chill in her words.
However, Selina was all smiles as she said that she would be more at ease with Alexa’s help.

“That’s right, I will also help.
It’s good to be friends with everyone.” Alexa nodded her head.

This place was originally Selina’s.
It was only right for Alexa to step down and give some help in return for taking this opportunity.
Additionally, the female lead will do one or two things here.
It is time for the stand-in to disappear.

It was a complex and sad feeling, but Alexa docilely accepted it.
Of course, not everyone reacted like that just because Alexa did.

“No, I don’t like it.”

“Huh?”

Terrun shook his head, “I don’t like it.
That we will get all along, I don’t like that.” Clearly expressing his mind, Terrun looked at Alexa.
“I will only be friends with Alexa.”

“Terrun! What are you saying in front of Selina?!”

Alexa apologized to Selina instead, “I’m sorry, Selina.
Terrun was just shy around people.”

Selina just shrugged her shoulders, “It’s fine.
Miss Alexa already told me that you’ll help me.” Selina whispered as she affectionately took Alexa’s hand.

(T/N: My hands are shaking tremble tremble)

With her eyes drooped down, Selina looked as pitiful as possible.
Alexa stared at Selina’s hand holding hers. I don’t know why I am being hesitant when I know Selina was the rightful owner of this place.
Why am I being reluctant towards Selina?

‘It must be because of my silly heart.’

But Alexa knows best how it feels to have her own thing stolen.
She also lost everything she had and took her own life.
So Alexa shouldn’t be a swindler thief.
She must be different from the senior who stole from her.

She held Selina’s hand.

“That’s right.”

Alexa took her hand and shook it.

Word came from Clouster that the Grand Duke and his wife fortunately yielded and headed for the capital.
As Alexa had advised them, the Grand Duke and his wife yielded.
Then after resolving the crisis, he wondered how Alexa knew that Duke Duffle had led the rebellion.

‘I should check this.’

Of course, in a way that Alexa wouldn’t be hurt or scared.

Baron Visten called for Alexa to take a walk with him for that reason.

“Baron Visten.”

Her smiling face was full of spring flowers.
Is it because she went on a picnic that she looked livelier than usual?

‘Then I should make sure to have time to walk with her every day.’

Visten nodded as he devised a plan to further improve Alexa’s health.

“I heard you were looking for me.”

“What about Ysildus?”

“Ah, he’s eating right now, so he didn’t come with me.”

It was self-evident that he would probably come after Alexa after dinner.
Visten nodded knowingly and offered Alexa a seat.

“Would you like some tea?”

“No.
I ate so much that I can’t eat any more.”

“I see.
You should eat well.”

Visten sat across from Alexa.
He then asked Alexa.

“Actually, I asked to meet you today because I wanted to ask you a question.”

“Me?”

“Yes.
Alexa, just be honest with me.
I will never reprimand you.”

Alexa tilted her head.

For a long time after that, Visten appealed to the fact that Alexa may never take this matter seriously.
He then opened his mouth.

“How did you know Duke Duffle was going to rebel? And about that d**n Emperor’s plan.”

“Ah….”

This question was a matter of course.  Alexa nodded.
It would be too future-oriented to say that she saw it in a book.
Moreover, she hadn’t seen the Emperor for herself, but she talked about him.
So, in fact, she had actually thought about what excuse to make about this in advance.

“Uhm….”

“You don’t have to answer if it is a difficult question for you.” Baron Visten told her hastily.

Alexa shook her head as if okay.

Alexa shook her head, “It’s alright, I can give you an answer.”

“Really?” Visten’s face was too bright.

Alexa swallowed her saliva.
It would be crazy to reveal that she had entered a book.
No one will believe it – that this was a place inside a novel.
So Alexa came up with an easy-to-believe excuse – a setting that would be possible in a romance-fantasy novel.

“I know the future, Baron Visten.”

“You know the future? Then…”

“But I don’t know everything, Baron Visten.
I also have no idea how I came to know it.
There were uncommon things that popped into my mind.”

Visten understood Alexa’s words.
In other words, she seemed to say that she knew about the future of an unpredictable range within an undetermined scope.
Visten stared at Alexa with flushed cheeks and twinkling eyes.

‘Where did I find this treasure….’

Alexa glanced at Visten.
Fortunately, her excuse seemed to have worked on him.
It is up to Visten how to understand this.
If Visten asks her to make predictions about the future, Alexa can tell him, ‘I don’t predict the future.’ That was the reason why she talked vaguely and in a reasonable compromise.
Alexa also thought that Visten would probably not ask her for anything.
To the extent that he was satisfied with Alexa and grateful for frequently offering help.

‘Phew, thank God.’

The iron-blooded Baron Visten was simple and naive.

“Thank you for being honest, Alexa.
I will never forget that you saved Thersion.
I will tell the Grand Duke about this when he comes back and let you receive praise from him.”

“No, you don’t have to.” Alexa shook her head.

Even now, I think that I’ve used up all the female lead buffs.
To be praised for my achievements – it was supposed to be for Selina in the future.

“I’ve been paid enough to stay here, so it’s just natural that I help.”

But she was the same as a sweet pumpkin to Visten.

“You are paid here in exchange for taking care of the Young Master Ysildus.
This is a completely different matter.”

“But…”

I don’t think I will need anything more considering that astronomical reward….

“This is for adults to talk about.
You need to go back now and take a nap.
Alexa must have been tired from the picnic.
You will grow up if you sleep.”

I am not that young. Alexa sighed deeply. Don’t you know that such arguments never work here? The people who were restricting Alexa, stubborn as a mule, were all in Thersion.

Wolves were quick to move.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the Imperial Capital, and what Carlisle Thersion did after his arrival was to invade the House of Duffle and cut down its Master.

Red blood soaked the mansion.
With a ferocious red on his blue eyes, Carlisle swung his sword like the grim reaper.
Duke Duffle’s neck rolled on the floor and blood splattered on the floor.

“Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

The maid who met his eyes crawled back and ran away.
Due to the sudden unknown intruder in the middle of the night, the House of Duffle were all in confusion and fled.

“Gr, Grand Duke… how could you be so discourteous?!”

Carlisle blinked indifferently and looked at the Duchess.
The woman holding the decapitated Duke glared at him ferociously.

Standing next to Carlisle, Grand Duchess Essellia clicked her tongue and casted the Duchess a glance.

“What? Did you know that your husband was committing treason?”

It was as soft as a song and rich as honey, but it was a voice that sounded like there was a knife put inside.
The Duchess trembled when she saw Essellia’s cold eyes.

“Wh, what… what kind of nonsense is that?!”

On the way here, she heard about why Baron Visten pointed to Duke Duffle’s neck.
She now knows why they still struggled despite their superior tactics and physical abilities.
It was the Duke Duffle who interfered so far to have the war continue with other countries while he was preparing for rebellion.

‘That’s why the war was unnecessarily prolonged.’

In addition, Clouster speculated the possibility that there were traitors among Thersion knights.

Thersion Knights aren’t entirely made up of wolves.
Often, humans with outstanding physical abilities were selected and accepted in the Knights Order.
Though it was very, extremely rare.

The Grand Duke killed all the human knights belonging to the Thersion Knights without any hesitation.
His blood-soaked sword rang.

The Grand Duchess asked with a sigh, “I asked you if you were aware of your husband’s unlawfulness.”

“Im, impossible.”

Essellia nodded her head to Carlisle, and his sword once again drew an arc once more.

That night, the Thersion Knights, who turned against the moonlight, trampled on Duke Duffel’s mansion and confiscated all evidence of the rebellion.
It wasn’t a lie that the Tephepia River flowing through the capital was stained with blood.
Carlisle smiled, showing his teeth.

(T/N: I shuddered towards the end uuhh shudder shudder)
