She smiled raising her right hand, a bright golden flame erupted from her palm. The pure golden mana of royal bloodline which was itself a sign of authority and power. Only those who had royal blood running in their blood vessels were capable of this power.

The knights started trembling in fear after witnessing the scary glance of the princess. They immediately rushed inside and informed the emperor of her rudeness.

The loud angry voice of the emperor echoed there. Valerie showed middle finger to the knights and entered inside. She was probably going to become the thrash princess of the Obela Empire who has no class and manners.

Thinking of that she giggled to herself without realising that the emperor was watching her.

” You dare to laugh after causing such a shameless act in the royal palace? ”

The sharp eyes of the emperor focused on her, it is not wrong to say that the emperor is burning in rage.

” Greetings to the sun of Obela Empire. Im here with a request for approval. ”

Valerie bowed and politely addressed her reason for visiting him. And definitely she ignored the emperors question because it doesn matter now since she already had a bad reputation.

She could see the emperor gritting his teeth in irritation which doesn concern her at all.

” What is that you need approval for? You could have just asked Fredrick! ”

” Its not something butler Fredrick could approve of so I had to come see you in person, your majesty. ”

She was maintaining the perfect tone in her way of addressing the emperor but still she can see those annoyed eyebrows of him frowning.

” What is that ? ” He asked, distracting his attention from her.

” I want myself a personal knight. ”

” You could have just asked Fredrick and gotten yourself one of the royal knights. ”

Valerie glanced at her father who was not even paying attention to her. This ignorance made her furious and her anger played out. A smirk crept on her red lips as she asked something impossible.

” I want that prisoner to become my knight. ”

” Prisoner? ” The emperor lifted his head and stared seriously at her. Probably thinking that his daughter has reached the final stage of craziness.

” Yes, the prisoner who was locked up today in a dungeon. ”

” Valerie! ”

Emperor punched his table and glared at her with disgusted expression like he always used to do whenever she made or created commotion that goes beyond his tolerance.

Thats the right reaction expected from him. He hasn changed at all ! He is the same as before getting disgusted by my choices.

” Your majesty, I need your approval to make him my personal knight. ”

Even though it hurts her pride to continuously beg this person for something she wants but its fine as she knows what shes doing.

” Seriously? You will keep saying that? ”

” Yes, your majesty. Its something I want to for my… ”

” Not that! ”

The Emperor interrupted her in the middle of her sentence and stared at her with pitiful eyes as if he wanted to say something but didn seem to have enough courage to say.

Valerie gave him an annoyed look because he was just dragging this long and she wanted to finish this up immediately.

” Then your majesty please approve my request! ”

” Alright… ”

He sat down sighing tirelessly massaging his forehead. For Valerie this is like winning a lottery she never expected to get approved for her shitty request. She even prepared herself mentally to debate with the emperor if he didn agree to approve. Relief!

” Thank you for your approval, your majesty. ”

She turns back, about to leave but she heard murmuring of her father.

” Im your father not emperor… ”

Valerie raised her left eyebrow in disgust. How can he ask himself to be called father after abandoning her mother.

She ignored him and left the room, directly heading to the royal underground dungeon.

” Princess this way, that demon is dangerous so hes locked in a special place. ”

The guard showed her the way to the dungeons highly guarded area. The place which was protected by magical locks and spells. Not even a dead soul of a prisoner can escape that place.

” We are here, princess. ”

The guard unlocked the door and with a squeaking sound the huge iron door opened giving you the glimpse of whats actually inside.

The wooden bridge forms the path between two high cliffs and the volcanic lava flows through the cliffs. Above the bridge, the iron cages with prisoners in them hang from the ceiling of a rocky cave.

How cruel that is, its called the cage of hell.

Valerie examined the area and to be honest her soul shuddered in terror. This was a place where prisoners with extremely powerful mana were kept.

” Release him, ” she ordered, pointing towards the man who had long black hair.

” H-Him…? ”

The guard reacted shockingly.

” Its his majestys order. Do you plan to go against his order? ” She smiled as always but that was much like a threatening smile.

” I-I will do that… princess… ”

The cage in which that man was kept was brought down and by chain , the guard dragged him to Valerie.

” Why is he so calm? ” She questioned because it was quite surprising as he caused such a ruckus in the city but now hes completely quiet.

” Hes controlled under the slave spell. An archmage himself casted it on his collar and made him wear that. ”

The guard showed the black collar around that mans neck. So it means that collar has also blocked his mana flow.

” Alright, leave him to me . ”

” Ah, okay… ”

The guard walked out first and you looked at the kneeling man in front of you. It was a shame for his powers to get chained by some spells.

” Raise your head! ”

But he remained quiet and kept staring at the ground.

Again no response which was now pissing off Valerie. She held his face in her hand and forced him to look at her. But what the –

” So you were caught stealing food from the shop. But you were stealing food for your mother whos sick? ” Valerie asked, sitting next to that man.

He nodded and started sobbing. She passed him her handkerchief and sighed. She has thought that he would attack her and to get him under control she would have to use her mana power but he appears to be a man with a tender innocent heart who is just suffering from poverty.

Valerie stood up and glanced at him.

” Ill make sure that your mother gets perfect medication and is on a healthy diet if…, ” She paused to see his reaction.

” If…? ” He uttered.

Oh gosh hes trapped in her bargain.

” If you agree to serve me as my personal knight, Aloysius! ”
