” Mary, call Aloysius inside. ”

Valerie asked while sipping on her tea. Yesterday was a stressful day because she had to issue the order to provide Aloysiuss mother medication and a suitable place for living.

And as for Aloysius, he agreed to serve her as personal knight and was freed from the magical collar on his neck because knights need their magical abilities to provide protection to their masters.

” Greetings to the princess. ”

Valerie lifted her face and examined her knight from head to toe. He was dressed in a knights uniform with a sword hanging in its scabbard. And his face yielded power with his long black hair tied up in a ponytail.

Even that mark on his face looks gorgeous, didn think such a handsome face was hiding behind those shabby texture! She smiled and sipped her tea.

” Your mother has sent you a letter. ”

Valerie forwarded the envelope towards him .

” T-Thank you princess. Ill never disappoint you with my service. ”

” Alright now don start sobbing again! ”

” I apologise… ”

That shyness looks cute on him but its not time for praising him because soon your step sister and brothers will cause a scene. How can they sit by when Valerie has been doing such fearless deeds.

” Princess, his majesty has called for you in his office. ”

One of the guards announced from the outside which had her rolling eyes. She definitely knows why the emperor wants to see her !

” Aloysius, you can leave now for the training ground. Ive urgent matters to solve. ”

” I understand princess. ”

He left and you also headed to the emperors office. Damn it! That person was there too whom you hated the most.

” Greetings to sister Helene. ”

But she didn respond to Valeries greeting and aggressively shouted at the emperor.

” Father, how can you approve her to have a prisoner as a personal knight? ”

There she goes again like every time. Jealous and disapproving of Valeries every choice. And she definitely thinks that this time Valerie will always beg for apology and regret for not listening to her jealous step sister. Fool!

” Sister, he was just misunderstood for his crimes… ”

” What? ” Helene rudely asked, glaring at Valerie.

” Yes, he was just stealing food for his sick mother which after investigating seemed true. ”

Valerie paused and turned towards the emperor and smiled more like an emotionless smile.

” And his majesty himself gave me approval for making him my personal knight, sister. ”

Valeries savage answer with a mixture of sweetness killed Helene within. She could have never expected a counterattack from the trash princess.

” If there is nothing else to discuss, take your leave. ”

” But father… ”

And before Helene could say a word against she was given a cold glance by the emperor.

” I understand father… ”

Helene glanced at you with hatred before leaving the office.

” You stay here, Ive something to talk to you… ”

Now what he has to say to me ? she sighed and sat down on a nearby chair without permission because shes trash with no manners according to her plan.

” You seem to have changed a lot ! ”

Valerie looked at the emperor, his jewelled blue eyes sparked the same as yours. She now knows that he has started noticing her existence and its the perfect time to show how arrogant she is.

” I just showed my true self which was hidden underneath my fear of losing family! ”

” W-What do you mean? ”

Valerie could sense the nervousness in her fathers voice. By now he has realised the reason for her change after all hes the one who brought her in this cruel world.

” D-Do you mean now you don have fear of losing family? ”

The emperor asked, his voice was getting emotional.

Valerie stood up and replied bluntly.

” Now I don have a family! ”

Saying that she left the office because it was getting suffocated by the awkwardness and anger which she has buried in her heart. He never once treated her as his daughter so why would he want to become her family? Nuisance!

Her mood was already ruined and she needed the loneliness to heal herself.

” Ah! Now that Ive said everything I feel my heart is less heavy. Ive wished to say that everyday in my past life… ”

Valerie murmured while lying down on her bed. Today was a troublesome day but she managed to achieve her goals. Few weeks passed by and new rumours started sprouting among the aristocrats.

The rumours of her making a prisoner a knight spread like forest fire all over the empire. About her being rude and savage which was good because thats only the intention of Valerie. She wants her image to be strong and savage among the aristocratic families.

” Cold hearted princess is better than dumb princess! ” Valerie laughed while Mary just stared at her .

” My brothers are fighting against the holy knights and Ill soon be used as a bargain to stop this war! ”

” H-How do you know that princess? ”

Mary asked in confusion, she just can understand what her princess says sometimes. Its like she has seen her future…

” I just know but I won let that happen! ”

Suddenly she stood up and asked Mary to help her with a knight uniform.

” P-Princess you can do that! ”

Mary reacted shockingly after realising what Valerie was going to do. But before she did anything Aloysius entered inside.

” Princess the horse is ready, we will head to Perriere holy land. ”

Aloysius was given a displeased look by Mary, instead of stopping the princess he was encouraging her to take law in her hand. Bravo to the personal knight who puts the lives of their masters in danger! He only has a big body but no brain.

Mary just smiled but it gave off chilling vibes which gave goosebumps to Valerie and Aloysius.

” So , we are going Mary… Pass this letter to his majesty. Youll not be punished! ”

Saying that Valerie wrapped her arms around Aloysiuss broad shoulder and he scooped her up . BOOM!

They teleported through a magic circle and appeared in the middle of deserted streets of the Obela empires rural area. Galloping on their horses, Valerie followed Aloysius who seemed to know the secret way to enter holy land Perriere.

They both galloped through the woods for two straight days and at last they were able to cross the border of the Obela empire and enter the Perriere holy land.

” What is your next order, princess? ”

Valerie looked at her knight who still appears to be alright after such a long ride but this is unfair because she was drained out of energy and needs to fill her tummy.

In her past life she has managed to learn horse riding and swordsmanship to impress her husband. How naive of her to think that war men get impressed by strong women.

I know I was stupid who kept doing things to get my husbands interest even after getting ignored. Fool!

The thoughts of stupidity of her past life made her clench jaws in a feeling of cliche.

” But Ill not repeat the same mistake again! ”

She shouted in frustration as her face turned red in embarrassment. And she just realised that Aloysius was giving her a strange look as if hes indirectly asking if princess is alright or hunger has made her behave crazily.

” Im alright… I was just reminded of something trashy! ”

She pulled her horses reins and headed first towards the city of Perriere. The darkness also started hovering and a bright moon made its entrance in the dark sky.

After an hour later they arrived at the one inn where they got themselves food to eat.

Both Valerie and Aloysius were dressed in black knight uniforms. With black cloak covering their heads and even forehead. And strangely all the eyes were on them.

She came close to Aloysius and whispered.

” Why are everyone staring at us? ”

” Because we look like assassins! ”
